GOVERNMENT Exit Question - 8/26/14 (Tuesday)

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."


What does government do? In the Preamble to the United States Constitution, the Founding Fathers lay out what they believe the purpose of government should be. Based on what you now know about the four basic roles of government, do you think today's government is doing a good job of fulfilling those roles? Why or why not? Explain your answer in four to five complete sentences. Your answer is due at the beginning of tomorrow's class.

  2. The governments jobs is to protect and control us. I think that they do a pretty good job at this because we are pretty safe here in America. There is a good amount of order also so they must do a good job at controlling us. The government does w good job at doing what the constitution says they need to do.
